• Caney City Officers recently graduated from the  New Mexico Institute of Technology's Energetic Research Materials Center program on Explosives recognition. This class was sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security and equips Law Enforcement Officers to be able to recognize IED's and other explosives they are likely to encounter in the course of their duties.   read more >

Texas SB 1074, which became law on 09/01/2001, prohibits racial profiling by Texas peace officers, and requires agencies to collect stop data beginning on 01/01/2002.
Article 3.05 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure defines Racial Profiling as:
"A law enforcement-initiated action based on the individual's race, ethnicity, or national origin rather than on the individual's behavior or on information identifying the individual as having engaged in criminal activity."
